Different Generations of Artistic Talent Bond at Community Event
NEW HAVEN - On June 19th, 2010 Bridgeport held its annual Juneteenth celebration in downtown. The celebration brought together artistic talent from different generations that reside in Connecticut, Bridgeport native Professor Richard Fewell who attends the celebration every year is a playwright, author, poet, actor, & presently the new play advisor for the Connecticut based theatre company, Prometheus Fire.
Fewell was able to meet and pose for pictures with Rodney T. Moore & Alex Tyson of Family Man entertainment, LLC. Alex Tyson is an up and coming writer/producer from New Haven, CT and the writer/producer of the hit stage play “Family Affair”, directed by New Haven native Rodney T. Moore, who is just as talented an actor as he is a director.
The team of Moore and Tyson has taken Family Man Entertainment, LLC to a level they both never thought they would get to. Mr. Richard Fewell had the opportunity to attend the performance of “Family Affair” at the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, CT on February 14, 2010, and below is what he had to say:
“I have attended many openings of new plays at Long Wharf Theatre over the years as a reviewer for the Inner City newspapers, but the opening of “Family Affair” was different, produced by Family Man Entertainment, LLC who’s CEO is Alex D. Tyson and theatrical director is Rodney T. Moore. Team Tyson/Moore work well together because they do not believe in giving up, even when the Outlook for African American theatre is not exactly bright. Tyson’s play “Family Affair” is a situational drama that gives us a lot to think, and even pray about. The Stage Family is a family that most of us can relate to in some way. It was an exciting evening of comedy and tragedy. We need to support Family Man Entertainment, LLC as they seek to bring it to more of our families, perhaps “Family Affair” can help us all heal and move on”.
